Man stabbed near Walgreens on Chicago's South Side

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was rushed to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after being stabbed in the South Chicago neighborhood.

The stabbing happened at 1:25 p.m. near 92nd Street and Commercial Avenue. At the scene, a Chicago Police squad car was seen backed up right to the entrance of a Walgreens at that location, and crime scene tape was strung in front of that entrance

Police said a 35-year-old man got into a quarrel with someone who pulled out a knife. The victim suffered a laceration to his shoulder.

The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, police said.

The attacker sped off in a silver Dodge minivan.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
