Man Slain In Belmont-Cragin Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 25-year-old man was shot to death during a fight at a Belmont-Cragin neighborhood business on the Northwest Side on Wednesday evening.

About 5:40 p.m., he got in to a physical altercation with a group of people inside the building in the 5200 block of West Fullerton Avenue, police said.

When he tried to run away through the back door, someone followed him and opened fire. Emergency crews found him in the alley with multiple gunshot wounds to the body, police said.

He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:24 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. His name was withheld early Thursday.

Police said the shooting may have been gang-related.
