Man Shot To Death In Englewood Apartment

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot to death early Monday in an Englewood neighborhood apartment on the South Side, police said.

Shortly after 4 a.m., the 28-year-old was found with gunshot wounds to the chest and head on the kitchen floor of a second-floor apartment in the 1100 block of West Garfield, according to Chicago Police.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office did not immediately confirm the fatality.

Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
