Man Shot And Killed In Austin

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 36-year-old man was shot to death Sunday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side, according to Chicago Police.

About 8:20 p.m., he was walking with a friend in the 1600 block of North Central Avenue when he heard a shot and realized he'd been struck in the abdomen, police said.

He was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he later died, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office did not immediately confirm the fatality.

Investigators think the shooting was gang-related.
