Man Killed In Gary Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died Monday night after he was shot in front of his home in Gary, Indiana.

Johnny Ware, 25, was shot once in the head while standing on his driveway in the 1500 block of West 2nd Avenue in Gary about 10:30 p.m., according to Gary police and the Lake County coroner's office.

Ware was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:40 p.m., the coroner's office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

No one is in custody as of Tuesday morning. Anyone with information is asked to cal Detective Minchuk or Detective Dickerson of the Gary-Lake Metro Homicide Unit at (219) 755-3852.
