Man shot and killed during fight at hotel lounge in Old Town identified as Allen Cordayl, 35

CHICAGO (CBS) – The man killed after being shot at a hotel lounge in Old Town Sunday morning has been identified. 

According to the Cook County medical examiner, the victim was 35-year-old Allen Cordayl. 

Police said around 1:21 a.m., a 35-year-old man was involved in a fight with another man at Hotel Lincoln in the 1800 block of North Clark Street.

The second fired a shot - striking the victim in the chest, police said.

The victim was transported by the Chicago Fire Department to Illinois Masonic Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The general manager of the hotel said the hotel is fully cooperating with law enforcement as they conduct their investigation.

No one is in custody.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
