Man In Custody After Ambulance Stolen From Hospital In New Lenox
(CBS) -- A man from Manhattan, Illinois, is in police custody this morning after an ambulance was stolen from a southwest suburban hospital.
This all started with an incident in Manhattan, says New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann.
"There was a resident from Manhattan that was transported to Silver Cross Hospital. At some point in time he left the hospital and jumped into an ambulance and drove it to a location in New Lenox."
Mayor Baldermann says that location was the home of a friend or acquaintance.
Police arrived - following the signal from the GPS in the ambulance - and there was some kind of incident at the home and the man from Manhattan was arrested.
Baldermann says no one was injured.
