Shelby Crawford shot the girl in the chest about 4:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of 111th Street, police said.

She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, police said.

Crawford was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID card and aggravated battery with a firearm, according to a statement from Chicago Police issued early Friday.
