Man Electrocuted On Blue Line Tracks On West Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died of electrocution after falling on Blue Line tracks at the Kedzie-Homan stop early Tuesday, police said.

The man, described only as an adult, fell on the track's third rail at 530 S. Kedzie Av. about 4:45 a.m., police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he later died, according to police.

The Cook County medical examiner's office could not confirm the fatality at 5:50 a.m.

Trains were halted until 5:15 a.m. and were operating with residual delays Tuesday morning, the CTA said. Commuters should allow extra travel time.
