Man Charged With Striking Illinois State Trooper, DUI
(CBS) -- Illinois State Police say a trooper had to go to a hospital early Sunday morning after he was struck in the face by a driver stopped for suspicion of DUI.
It happened on the Kennedy Expressway at Lawrence. State Police Trooper Ark Wozniak says the trooper was treated and released from the hospital.
State Police say 35-year-old Daniel Rucci is charged with felony aggravated battery to an officer, felony possession of cannabis, and DUI.
He was being held at the District 16 Chicago Police lockup in Jefferson Park.
