Man Charged With Murder In Fatal Burnside Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in the Burnside neighborhood last Tuesday.

Stephen Crump, 27, faces on count of first-degree murder in connection with the Sept. 22 shooting that left 28-year-old Marsolino White dead, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

About 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, White was shot in the head in the 9200 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. White, of the 7700 block of South Coles, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Crump, of the 300 block of East 70th Place, is scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.
