Man Charged With Fatal Ford Heights Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Bond was denied Sunday for a south suburban man charged with shooting a man to death last month in Ford Heights.
Shaquille Williams, 21, faces one count of first-degree murder for the Feb. 12 attack, Cook County sheriff's officials announced on Saturday.
Sheriff's officers were flagged down about 9:30 p.m. by someone who claimed a man had been shot in the 1300 block of Lincoln Highway, sheriff's police said. Deputies found 35-year-old Michael Armstrong with multiple gunshot wounds inside a 1999 tan Jeep Cherokee, authorities said.
Armstrong, of the 15700 block of Marshfield in Harvey, was taken to Franciscan St. James Health in Olympia Fields, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Williams had walked up to Armstrong as he sat in the car and then opened fire, police said.
Williams, a Markham resident, was arrested at his Markham home on Friday, police said. A judge ordered him held without bond at a hearing on Sunday, and he is next scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
