Man Charged With Attempting To Lure 2 Girls In Riverside

(CBS) -- A Cicero man has been charged with attempting to lure two girls into his car after a three-month investigation.

Mustafa Mousa Ahmad, 30, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, according to a statement from Riverside police.

At 8:05 p.m. May 27, police received a call of a male attempting to lure two girls into his car in the 3000 block of South Harlem Avenue, police said. The girls told the first responding officer that they were walking back from the North Riverside Mall on Harlem when a gray Honda pulled up next to them.

The driver rolled down his window and started to say something to get their attention, police said. He then followed them south on Harlem, rolled down the passenger side window and said "Hey, come over here…I saw you guys walking and wanted to say hi."

He asked them questions and told them that his name was Nick and that he was 24 years old, police said. He continued to follow them and, at the corner of Harlem and Lindbergh, pulled over and stared at the girls as they continued to walk south on Harlem.

He then signaled them with his hand to come over to the car and said he would give them cigarettes and alcohol, police said. One of the girls then took a picture of his car and license plate before he drove away.

Over the next three months, detectives were able to enhance the photos given to them by the girls, police said. Last week the car was spotted traveling through a license plate camera reader.

He was arrested at his home Friday in the 1300 block of South 60th Court in Cicero, police said.

He later told investigators that he wanted to "have them hang out with him at his house," police said. He also said that he thought the girls were pretty and that he wanted to get to know them before having sex.
