Man Charged With Attempted Murder Of Wife

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Mount Prospect man charged with attempted murder after he allegedly tried to strangle his wife was ordered held on $150,000 bond, police say.

Mount Prospect police received a 911 call about 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 16 from a home in the 1500 block of West Dempster, police said. Upon arrival, they found 29-year-old Prettiest Davis and his wife, who was unconscious.

The woman was taken to a hospital where, upon regaining consciousness, she told police Davis tried to strangle her during an argument, police said. Injuries to her neck supported her statement.

Davis was charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder and his bond was set $150,000, police said.
