CHICAGO (CBS) — A second man is now facing charges in the shooting death of a beloved limo driver on Chicago's West Side last year.

Kameron Freeman, 29, was arrested on Thursday and charged with one felony count of murder and two felony counts of armed robbery.

Chicago police say Freeman was identified as one of the suspects who participated in the deadly shooting of Mohammed Al Hijoj, 39, in the 1700 block of North Lotus Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2023. The first suspect, Zayin Kelly, 18, who prosecutors say fired the shots that killed Al Hijoj, was charged in February.

A witness said Al Hijoj was driving a car with four additional males inside when it came to a stop, and afterward, shots were heard. Police said the four males then exited the car and left the scene.

Al Hijoj suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood in critical condition and was pronounced dead a short time later.

In addition, Freeman was also charged in a separate armed robbery that occurred in the 2100 block of West North Avenue on March 13.

He was scheduled to appear at a detention hearing on Saturday.
