Man Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Teenage Boy

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Chicago man charged with the fatal shooting of a teenage boy Monday evening in the Southwest Side Ashburn neighborhood was ordered held on $1 million bond Wednesday.

Elvin L. Prince, Jr., 27, of the 3000 block of W. 79th Place, was charged with first-degree murder Tuesday night, according to a statement from police.

Prince shot and killed 17-year-old Kayshaun Hall from a vehicle at 5:05 p.m. in the 8400 block of South Kedzie Avenue, police said. Hall was standing in an alley when Prince opened fire, striking him in the chest, authorities said.

The car then drove west on 84th Street, police said.

Hall, of the 2800 block of West 71st Street, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:10 p.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.
