Man Charged In Elgin Home Invasion, Battery
ELGIN, Ill. (STMW) -- An Elgin man is facing home invasion and battery charges after allegedly entering a home and beating a teenage boy earlier this month.
Police responded to a battery call about 7:30 a.m. Jan. 4 in the 1300 block of Concord Drive, where a 17-year-old boy told them a man had entered the home and hit him in the face and head, according to a release issued by Elgin police.
The boy was treated at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 21-year-old Victor M. Vega, who was arrested Tuesday, police said.
Vega, of Elgin, was charged with one count each of home invasion and aggravated battery, both felonies, police said.
He is scheduled to appear in bond court Friday morning, police said.
