Man Charged After Lawndale Drive-By Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man has been charged after a Saturday afternoon drive-by shooting in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.
Reginald Jackson, 27, faces one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the 12:16 p.m. shooting, according to Chicago Police.
A 21-year-old man was leaving a building in the 3100 block of West Roosevelt when someone in a blue car driving by fired shots in his direction, police said. The vehicle then sped away.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "serious but stable" condition, police said at the time.
Officers spotted a similar vehicle driving from the scene and tried to stop it. Two people got out and ran away but were caught after a short chase, police said.
Jackson, of the 4900 block of West Chicago, was subsequently arrested, while the other person was released without charges, police said. Court information was not immediately available.
