Woman, man shot to death at Burbank restaurant

BURBANK, Ill. (CBS) -- A woman and a man were found shot to death in a murder-suicide in a restaurant in southwest suburban Burbank Thursday evening.

At 6:36 p.m. Thursday, Devon Williams, 21, walked into Franks Chicago Shrimp House, at 6539 W. 79th St. in Burbank, police said. He took out a handgun and shot and employee Melissa Hoddenbach, 55, multiple times, police said.

Williams then shot himself, police said.

Police arrived at the scene two minutes later to find Hoddenbach's body on the floor. Police determined she was already dead.

Police also found Williams lying on the floor with a gunshot wound, and he was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, he died at the hospital.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office ruled Friday that the incident was a murder-suicide. It remains under investigation, and no motive has been specified.Investigators said this was an isolated incident, and the public is not in danger.
