16-year-old girl critically injured in shooting at Little Village gas station

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A 16-year-old girl was critically injured during a shooting at a Little Village gas station.

CBS 2's Mugo Odigwe reports from Mount Sinai Hospital where the teen is fighting for her life after she was shot in the head around 2:00 Tuesday morning.

The girl is listed in critical condition. Chicago fire firefighters rushed to Mount Sinai at a gas station on 26th and Kildare Avenue.

Chicago police said the 16-year-old girl was in the passenger seat of a car at the gas station when people in a black SUV drove by and started shooting.

The girl was hit in the head. Police aren't saying what led up to the shooting or if the girl was the intended target. They said Area Four detectives are still investigating.
