Light Scattered Snow Tuesday And Wednesday; Very Mild Weekend Ahead

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Minor snow showers were possible across the Chicago area Tuesday and Wednesday, before a significant warmup later this week.

A few light snow showers were making their presence felt in north central Illinois on Tuesday morning, but were expected to die out before reaching the Chicago area.

However, there is the potential for a few scattered snow showers late Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening, and a few more on Wednesday, but not much accumulation is expected, with no more than a quarter inch likely in the city, and a half inch in the far southwestern suburbs.

The end of the week will bring much milder temperatures, with a high around 56 on Friday, and highs in the low 50s on Saturday and Sunday.

That warmup won't last beyond the weekend, however, as temperatures should return to the upper 30s next Monday.
