Levine: White Sox Likely To Retain Coaching Staff

By Bruce Levine-

(CBS) -- The Chicago White Sox are expected to bring back their entire coaching staff in 2015.

Manager Robin Ventura is completing his third year on the job. Ventura originally signed a three-year deal before the 2012 season. He signed an extension after the 2013 season.

The staff of bench coach Mark Parent, first-base coach Daryl Boston, third-base coach Joe McEwing, pitching coach Don Cooper and assistant hitting coach Harold Baines have been on Ventura's staff since he was hired. Bullpen coach Bobby Thigpen is finishing his second year on the job, and hitting coach Todd Steverson was hired before the 2014 season.

Ventura said Tuesday that he would meet with general manager Rick Hahn before the season ends. Teams usually do this as a formality in order to have coaches know where they stand before the season's finale on Sept. 28.

"I am hoping they will (all) be back," Ventura said. "There will be more discussions going toward the end of the year."

Asked if he was happy with the coaches' performance, Ventura said, "Yes, yes, I am."
