Lawyer: Health Fear For Mom Murder Suspect Heather Mack

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The lawyer for Heather Mack says he has serious concerns about his client's health, after speaking with her by phone several times during the night.

WBBM's Regine Schlesinger reports that 19-year-old Heather Mack, who's said to be two months pregnant, has been held by Indonesian police on the resort island of Bali since last week when her mother's body was found stuffed in a suitcase.

Her 20-year-old boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer is also in custody.

Now, Mack's Chicago lawyer, Michael Elkin, says he's worried about her health.

In phone conversations overnight, he says, she sounded dazed and confused, incoherent at times.

He says through tears, she told him she's been sexually assaulted on three occasions while in custody.

"I said, 'Were you touched?' And she said 'Yes.'

I said, 'Were you touched inappropriately?' And she said, 'Yes.' "

When asked why she sounded incoherent, she told Elkin she's not being given enough water and has been given some strange vitamin pills by authorities.

Elkin says a team of lawyers, private investigators and doctors are getting ready to head to Bali soon.

He says Mack is innocent of any involvement in her mother's death.
