Lanes Closed Near Chicago Stock Exchange After Scaffolding Falls

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Lanes near the Chicago Stock Exchange were closed early Friday after scaffolding and other debris fell from the building.

Both scaffolding and other items had fallen to the street at 3:05 a.m. from 440 S. LaSalle St., according to police and fire officials.

Firefighters helped clear some of the debris and had returned by 4:45 a.m. No one was injured, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Juan Hernandez said.

Westbound lanes of Congress Parkway were closed near Clark Street as building crews continued to work, police said. It wasn't immediately known when lanes would open up.
