Lakefront Barriers Installed For Rising Lake Levels, High Waves
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago's lakefront gets more protection from rising lake levels and powerful waves.
City crews are installing hundreds of barriers to prevent erosion from the battering waves. The workers are targeting eight locations that are the most at-risk.
The first barricades are going up at 75th Street and Lake Shore Drive.
The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) will continue putting up breakwater barriers through the end of the month.
