Kyle Long On Roberto Garza: 'Will Always Be A Legend'
(CBS) The Bears released 36-year-old center Roberto Garza on Thursday, a move that wasn't a shock given the new regime in charge but also one that must be difficult for many in the locker room to take, considering Garza had a 10-year tenure in Chicago and was regarded as a team leader.
That was certainly the case for 26-year-old Bears guard Kyle Long, a two-time Pro Bowler whom Garza took under his wing. Long expressed his thoughts on Twitter on Thursday shortly after the news broke, saying Garza "will always be a legend."
Garza played in 154 games for the Bears, starting 145 of them in that 10-year stretch. He spent the last four seasons as a center after playing guard previously.
