Man Stabbed To Death In Kenwood Robbery Attempt
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was stabbed to death during an attempted robbery in the Kenwood neighborhood early Monday.
Police said a 51-year-old man was on the back porch of an apartment building in the 4500 block of South Drexel Boulevard when another man walked up and tried to rob him. The two struggled, and the victim was stabbed in the chest.
The robber then ran away.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The back of the apartment building is gated, so it was unclear how the robber got in; if the gate was left unlocked, if someone let him in, or if he had a key to the gate.
No one was in custody early Monday. Area Central detectives were investigating.
