Iraq War Veteran, Wife Get Mortgage-Free Home, Thanks To Generous Gift
(CBS) -- An Iraq war veteran from Arkansas and his wife received the keys to a newly renovated home in Elk Grove Village on Friday, all for free.
WBBM Newsradio's Bob Roberts was there.
The gift was courtesy of the Military Warriors Support Foundation and PNC Bank, as a way to thank retired U.S. Army SPC Kenneth Bryant for his military service. Bryant joined the Army in 2003 out of Little Rock and spent time in engineer battalions. He and his wife, Kady, were married in 2013 and have an infant son.
"I love the kitchen," Kady, who is expecting, said as the couple toured the three-bedroom ranch-style home.
"I love the woodwork," Kenneth said.
An added bonus from the gift: PNC Bank discovered Kady has a background in financial services. The bank has a job waiting for her when she's ready.
