CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police on Monday were searching for a man wanted for sexually exploiting children on a residential block in the West Rogers Park neighborhood this past weekend.

At 5:53 p.m. Sunday, the man performed an indecent act in front of two minor children in the 6200 block of North Maplewood Avenue, between Rosemont and Granville avenues, police said.

The man then left, but doubled back and returned to the scene, police said. By then, the children had gone inside.

The man was last seen walking south on Maplewood Avenue.

Police said the man is white or Hispanic, 35 to 45 years old, with light complexion, a medium build, and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a red hat, a gray short-sleeved shirt with an unknown logo on the front, light-colored blue jeans, a blue jacket tied around his waist, and white gym shoes, police said.
