Metra UP North Line Trains Delayed After Tree Falls On Tracks

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Metra UP North Line trains were running again Wednesday morning, although with delays of up to 54 minutes, after a tree fell on the tracks near Kenilworth.
The tree was spotted on the tracks around 7:15 a.m.
In an alert on its website, Metra said outbound trains were getting through with minimal delays, but at least three inbound trains were experiencing delays of 30 to 54 minutes.
Train #314, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 8:02 a.m., switched to the outbound tracks, and was moving 30 to 35 minutes behind schedule. Train #312, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 7:51 a.m., was operating approximately 50 minutes behind schedule. Train #310, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 7:42 a.m., was operating 54 minutes behind schedule.
Metra said it was unknown how long delays would last as crews work to remove the tree from the tracks.
