Illinois State Police Investigate Dan Ryan Expressway Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Illinois State Police officials are investigating a shooting on the Dan Ryan Expressway.
The incident occurred Thursday around 4:05 p.m. on I-94 northbound local lanes at 33rd Street, according to ISP.
Police responded to report of a vehicle being shot at as it travelled northbound on I-94 in the local lanes near 33rd Street.
A male victim said he was shot at by a silver or gray van, police said. The victim then exited the highway. His vehicle was struck multiple times by gunfire. The victim said the offending vehicle exited northbound on 31st Street.
Inbound local lanes on the Dan Ryan Expressway were closed Thursday afternoon between 35th Street and 31st Street, due to police activity.
Traffic was backed up to 47th Street.
The shooting remains under investigation.
