(CBS) -- Advocates for immigration reform and refugee rights are planning to march from Chicago to the Republican and Democratic conventions this summer.

They're planning to walk to Cleveland and then on to Philadelphia.

"We are not willing no longer to tolerate the hatred and the racist attacks against out immigrant communities," he said.

Landaverde singled out Donald Trump's rhetoric, but said neither the republicans nor the democrats have been kind to the immigrant community.

Noura Al Masari of Syrian Forum USA said anyone who cares about families and cares about people should support their walk.

"This is not the America that we know, this is not the America that we would like to represent us as Americans," Al Masari said.

Landaverde said they have 75 committed walkers, so far.
