Illinois Tollway warns of I-PASS phishing scam

Phishing scam targets I-PASS users

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Illinois Tollway officials are warning I-PASS customers about a new phishing scam where customers receive a text indicating they owe money for unpaid tolls.

It includes a link and a specific toll amount owed. An example can be seen below.

Tollway officials warned recipients not to click any link in the text.

I-PASS users can check their accounts at IllinoisTollway.com or by calling the customer service center at 1-800-824-7277.

The tollway also asked anyone who receives a phishing text to file a complaint with ic3.gov.
