Illinois Football To Play Home-And-Home Series With UConn in 2019-'20
(CBS) The Illinois and UConn football teams will play a home-and-home series in 2019 and 2020, the schools announced Tuesday.
The Illini will play in Storrs, Conn., on Sept. 7, 2019. The Huskies will play in Champaign on Sept. 12, 2020. The teams have never played each other.
Both teams struggled last year, with Illinois going 4-8 and UConn going 3-9.
This deal is one of many non-conference series against notable foes that the Illini have already scheduled out in the future. Illinois will play North Carolina in 2015 and 2016, South Florida in 2017 and 2018, Virginia in 2021 and 2022 and Kansas in 2023 and 2024.
Illinois also plays Washington in Seattle next season.
