3 People Dead Following Wrong Way Crash On I-290

CHICAGO (CBS) – Three people are dead after a wrong-way driver crashed into another vehicle early Saturday morning, according to authorities.

Initial reports say around 5:13 a.m., Illinois State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-290 westbound near Mannheim Road. Both drivers and a passenger were pronounced dead.

Around 5:28 a.m., all lanes were closed for investigation. Traffic was diverted to Mannheim Road.
