Hot, humid weather returns to Chicago this weekend

Big time heat on the way

CHICAGO (CBS) — Mostly clear and comfortable tonight with lows in the upper 50s and low 60s.

Quiet weather will continue through Saturday with partly cloudy skies, highs in the upper 80s, and more humid conditions.

A disturbance will bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms Saturday night, mainly for areas west and northwest of Chicago.

Sunday will be warm, with highs in the mid-80s and very humid conditions. Lingering showers will remain possible through midday Sunday.

Very hot and humid conditions are expected early next week as a ridge of high pressure builds over the Great Lakes region.

Monday and Tuesday are the hottest days, with highs in the mid-90s and heat indices possibly reaching 100-104 degrees on Monday and 105-108 degrees on Tuesday.

Cooler weather by Wednesday, with shower and storm chances possible for late next week.
