Hickory Hills Police Officers Injured In Crash

HICKORY HILLS, Ill. (STMW) -- Two southwest suburban police officers were injured early Thursday when a car crashed into their squad car.

The two Hickory Hills police officers were in a squad car in the 7800 block of West 93rd Street about 1 a.m. when a woman driving a 2014 Audi without headlights on veered into their vehicle, according to Hickory Hills police.

Police said the 23-year-old Hickory Hills woman may have been driving under the influence, but she was not in custody as of Thursday morning.

Both officers and the woman were treated for injuries at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights and later released, police said.

The squad car was totaled, and the Audi also sustained extensive damage, a statement from police said.

Police are investigating.
