Helicopter Crashes In Prospect Heights, Pilot Suffers Minor Injuries
CHICAGO (CBS)-- A private helicopter crashed in Prospect Heights Wednesday morning.
The helicopter crashed after taking off from Chicago Executive Airport and struck a light pole.
Prospect Heights Police said officers responding to the crash around 6:40 a.m. found the helicopter on its side in the northbound lanes of Milwaukee Avenue near Apple Drive.
According to police, Milwaukee Avenue is shut down from River Road to Palatine Road as emergency crews respond to the scene.

The pilot was the only person inside, and suffered minor injuries. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the crash.
