Hearing Set For Mother Committed After Death Of Daughter, 4
WHEATON, Ill. (AP) — A suburban Chicago judge has scheduled a discharge hearing for a woman sentenced to lifetime involuntary commitment after the 2010 death of her 4-year-old daughter.

The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald reports that DuPage County Judge George Bakalis scheduled Marci Webber's hearing for May 7 to 9, opening the possibility she could be released from the Elgin Mental Health Center.
The 51-year-old woman was found not guilty of first-degree murder by reason of insanity. Authorities say she slashed her daughter Magdalene's throat before turning the knife on herself. According to prosecutors, Webber told relatives she feared "Satan was going to kidnap" her daughter.
Webber's attorney, Justin Schwartz, says Webber is not insane and not a threat to herself or others. He says she is "being unconstitutionally detained."
