Harvey Police Issue Arrest Warrant For Man In Gas Station Shooting
(CBS) -- Harvey police say there's an arrest warrant for a 24-year-old man accused of murdering a 17-year-old and critically wounding the teenager's mother over the weekend.
Police in Harvey have alerted officers in other south suburban departments to be on the lookout for 24-year-old Earl Truss of Harvey.
Harvey police spokesman Sean Howard says investigators believe Truss is the one who shot and killed 17-year-old Juwan Benson at a gas station Saturday afternoon and also shot the teenager's mother.
Howard says Truss had gotten into a "physical altercation" last week with Juwan Benson.
"The suspect waited a day later or so to shoot, unfortunately, the 17-year-old and his mother, who just happened to be with him at the gas station."
Howard says Harvey police believe Earl Truss is armed and dangerous.
