Handzus' Time In Chicago Appears Over
(CBS) This comes as little surprise, but it appears forward Michal Handzus' time in Chicago is over.
Set to hit the free agent market, Handzus has been informed by the Blackhawks' front office that it's looking in a "different direction," according to TSN hockey insider Bob McKenzie.
CHI has told Michal Handzus it is going in a different direction. Big veteran Slovak centre will be going to UFA. #TSN

As much as Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville loves and trusts his veterans, the 37-year-old Handzus didn't fit in Chicago's long-term plans, and he was coming off an uneven season in which he recorded 16 points in 59 games. At the end of the season, Handzus expressed interest in continuing his career, even if it wasn't in Chicago.
