Gurnee Man Vanishes

(CBS) -- A north suburban woman remembers the morning of June 8 clearly.

She says her husband left for a bike ride  -- and simply vanished.

Now, she's asking for help.

CBS 2's Pamela Jones reports.

How did a 57-year old who's strong enough to endure triathlons vanish on a bike ride?

That's just one question Andrew Adler's wife, son and friends are asking. He's been missing for more than a week.

Wife Kay Adler says she last saw her husband on June 8, a Sunday. He was heading out on his blue Cannondale mountain bike for a morning ride.

She says he normally was gone for two to four hours. He'd normally hit the Des Plaines River trail. This time, he never came back.

A search on Sunday marked a Father's Day the family never wants to repeat.

"It's pretty terrible. The only thing I wanted back on Father's Day was my dad," son Nick Adler says.

The Gurnee Police investigative unit can be reached at (847) 599-7040.
