Gould Confident Bears Are Molding Into Complete Team
(CBS) The Bears moved to 2-1 with a 27-19 win against the Jets on Monday night, a victory that propelled them to a first-place tie in the NFC North.
Most crucial to that win was the Chicago defense, which got tough in the red zone, allowing New York just one touchdown on six trips inside the 20. It was a performance that left Bears kicker Robbie Gould confident that Chicago can win any type of game that needs to be played.
"You have a great quarterback that can win games for you (in Jay Cutler), but if the defense plays up to their standard like they've been doing the last two games and Jay plays well and takes care of the football, we're going to win a lot of football games around here," Gould said in his weekly appearance on the Spiegel and Mannelly Show.
"(The defense) has been forcing turnovers at the right times and being able to get the ball back in the offense's hands with opportunities to score on short fields."
Gould also addressed a variety of other topics, including the special teams play, dealing with injuries and the emergence of the youngsters. Listen to the full interview below.
