Girl In Hospital After Being Pinned To A Porch By An SUV In Chatham

CHICAGO (CBS) --  A young girl was pinned against a porch by an SUV after a horrible 3-car crash in West Chatham.

"I was like, 'She's still alive. Somebody help her,'" neighbor John Stringfellow said.

CBS 2's Jeremy Ross reports, firefighters say a 3-car collision set off the series of crashes resulting in the damage and an injury at 80th and Vincennes.

A Nissan Pathfinder, driven by a 17-year-old struck two other cars, before hitting the porch.

"The little girl in the red shirt was standing there, and she was trying to dodge the car, but she had nowhere to go and the car just took her," Stringfellow added.

That driver of the Nissan Pathfinder is in police custody at a hospital. No word on charges or citations, yet.

Investigators say in total, seven people were taken to local hospitals.

The young girl is in critical condition, officials say.
