Garage Explodes In Alsip
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A garage exploded in southwest suburban Alsip early Thursday, destroying the garage, two vehicles, and a camper.
The explosion happened shortly before 5 a.m. in the 3700 block of West 116th Place in Alsip.
The blast and resulting fire also damaged an above-ground swimming pool, burned some of the siding off the back of the house, and blasted a hole in the roof of a neighboring garage.
There have been no reports of any injuries.
ComEd crews were sent to the home to secure power lines damaged in the explosion.
The cause of the blast was under investigation.
