Former President Bush Has Second Knee Surgery In Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Less than two months after having his right knee replaced in Chicago, former President George W. Bush was back at Rush University Medical Center this past weekend to have a partial replacement of his his left knee.
Bush spokesman Freddy Ford confirmed the former president had his left knee partially replaced Saturday morning at Rush. His wife joined him on the trip to Chicago.
Like the partial knee replacement on his right knee on Memorial Day weekend, the surgery was an outpatient procedure, and the former president and his wife were on their way back to Dallas on Monday.
"He's looking forward to getting back on his mountain bike in a few weeks," Ford said.
Rush is considered one of the nation's best hospitals for orthopedic surgery, and is the same hospital where Bulls star Derrick Rose had knee surgery in May 2012 after he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, and also after he suffered a torn medial meniscus in his right knee last November.
