Forest Park Man Charged With Chinatown Rape
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A west suburban man is charged with breaking into a building in Chinatown and sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman Sunday night, police said.
Latayuss Curry, 21, was charged with single counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a weapon, home invasion and kidnapping by force or threat of force, police announced Tuesday night.
About 10:15 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 2200 block of South Stewart after receiving calls of a burglary in progress, police said.
Officers then discovered that Curry had forcibly entered a building and sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman, police said. She was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center for treatment, but her condition was not disclosed.
Curry, of Forest Park, is scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday.
