Pink Line Service Resumes After Earlier Flooding
Updated 08/18/15 - 8:12 a.m.
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Service on the CTA Pink Line was returning to normal Tuesday morning, after trains were halted on a two-mile stretch of the route for more than seven hours, due to flooding on the tracks.
Shortly after midnight, Pink Line service was suspended between the 54th/Cermak and Pulaski stations, due to water on the tracks after heavy storms rolled through overnight.
The CTA said trains began running again around 7:15 a.m., though some residual delays remained as service resumed.
While service was suspended between 54th/Cermak and Pulaski, the CTA provided shuttle buses for customers to get through the affected area.
