Five Gang Members Charged After Elgin Drug Bust

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Five gang members face drug dealing charges after a drug bust in northwest suburban Elgin tha concluded a year-and-a-half long federal investigation, the FBI announced Tuesday.

James Mabry, also known as "J-Money," 46; and Corey Dunigan, 40, of Elgin, are each charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, according to a statement from the FBI.

Desmond Green, 43, and Rosaleen Delaney, 29, both of Elgin, are charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and heroin, the FBI said. Mabry's brother, Lee Dennis Mabry, 49, also of Elgin, faces one count of distributing cocaine.

The charges were filed in a sealed complaint last week in U.S. District Court following an investigation that began in September 2012, according to the statement, which alleges that all the suspects are gang members.

The investigation included recordings of meetings through "extensive use of sophisticated physical and electronic surveillance techniques," and led to the recovery of six handguns and various narcotics, including more than $100,000 worth of cocaine, according to the FBI.

According to the complaint, Mabry is a supplier of powder and crack cocaine to wholesale customers, who processed and packaged the drugs for his customers to resell.

Dunigan is an alleged customer of Mabry, and the two shared a storage location for narcotics, according to the complaint. Green supplied powder and crack cocaine, and heroin from a room at the Colonial Motel in Elgin, while Delaney, his girlfriend, distributed the drugs, the complain alleges.

Dunigan, Green, and Delaney were arrested in the Elgin area and appeared in U.S. District Court in Chicago on Sunday, where they were ordered held pending an appearance in court Tuesday afternoon, the statement said.

Mabry was arrested Sunday in Atlanta, where he appeared in federal court and remains in custody pending transfer to Chicago. His brother, who has not been captured, is "the subject of an extensive manhunt," according to the FBI.
