Fire Destroys Home In Lombard

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Four people were displaced early Thursday after a house fire in west suburban Lombard.

The fire started in the garage of a house in the 400 block of Collen Court, Lombard Fire Department Chief Paul DiRienzo told a reporter at the scene about 12:30 a.m.

One of the home's residents heard a "pop" in the garage and opened the door to find it engulfed in flames, DiRienzo said. The fire spread into the house, and flames were through the roof by the time fire crews arrived.

Four people who lived in the home were displaced as a result of the fire, but no injuries were reported, DiRienzo said.

"Everybody was able to get out and nobody was hurt," DiRienzo said.
